Silent Era- Russel

So again, for my history of animation class I have to create 3-5 character designs per chapter on the book "OF MICE AND MAGIC". This is my second character, Russel.

It was inspired by J.Stuart Blackton's "Humorous Phases of Funny Faces." I decided to look into the 1900's-1910's men's fashion and that's where it continued on.

As I was drawing it I had this nagging feeling that he looked familiar. then after I inked him in I realized that he looked like Teddy Roosevelt. I really didn't mean for that to happen, I just wanted to draw an over weight man with a cigar and in 1900-1910 fashion. All well, I think represents the silent era pretty well.

His name is Russel, please comment!
